PHARMACY TECHNICIAN PER DIEM
LANCASTER BEHAVIORAL HEALTH HOSPITAL
Description: As a Per Diem Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) Pharmacy Technician at Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements. This position is scheduled to work every other weekend, both Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am - 12:00noon.
Facility: Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital is a joint venture between Universal Health Services and Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine. The 128 bed facility will feature Lancaster County's only dedicated inpatient unit for adolescents, as well as a dedicated women's trauma unit, for sexual-assault victims or women with a history of traumatic injuries because of domestic violence. Slated to open in mid-2018, the hospital will also offer day-treatment services for adolescent, dual-diagnosis, older-adult, and substance-abuse patients. Pharmacy automation includes EPIC and Omnicell. Management of the pharmacy is outsourced to Comprehensive Pharmacy Services.
High School Diploma or GED
Successful completion of an ASHP accredited pharmacy technician program is required
Fingerprint clearance and child abuse registry clearance is required to work at this facility
PA Pharmacy Technician certification preferred
Recent paid Pharmacy Technician experience in an acute care or other inpatient care setting
Proficient computer skills using pharmacy systems and Microsoft Office
Demonstrated customer service skills
Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting
Effective communications skills; verbal and written
