Shift: 4

Schedule: Monday thru Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm. Will also be in the weekend rotation, working approximately 1 weekend per month at a different location.

Job Summary:

Coordinates the daily operations of the pharmacy technician staff at the assigned location. Acts as a daily resource for the technicians and provides guidance regarding technical and operational information.

In addition, provides technical and clerical assistance to the pharmacist in the processing of medication orders and the monitoring of drug therapy. May procure, measure, compound, count, and deliver medications under the supervision of a pharmacist. Functions within the guidelines of the Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Code

• Pharmacy Examining Board

• Pharmacy Practice Sections. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

Minimum of 3 years experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred. Minimum of 1 year formal supervisory experience is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION:

Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Exceptional customer service skills. Proven ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group.

Proven attention to detail. Outstanding organizational and follow-up skills. Proven leadership skills. Experience with various computer systems and programs.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23 must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until 3/31/24 to obtain registration. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through passing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Boards exam (PTCE) or the National Healthcareer Associations exam (ExCPT) is required within 6 months of hire.
