  • 1.0 FTE is Full-Time, any position less than 1.0 FTE is Part-Time, and .001 FTE is Optional Part-Time*

Shift: 1

Monday-Friday; First shift; no weekends or holidays

Responsibilities:

Provides technical and clerical assistance to the pharmacist in the processing of medication orders and the monitoring of drug therapy. May procure, measure, compound, count, and deliver medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.

The Pharmacy Technician- Home Delivery is responsible for assisting the home delivery pharmacists in the daily activities to drive and increase home delivery patient management and prescription capture for the retail pharmacies by communicating patients. Functions within the guidelines of the Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Code

  • Pharmacy Examining Board

  • Pharmacy Practice Sections. Other duties as assigned. (U)

Summary:

Minimum of 2 years experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred. High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through passing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board's exam (PTCE) or the National Healthcareer Association's exam (ExCPT) is required within 6 months of hire.

Experience with 3rd party insurance. Proven ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group. Outstanding organizational and follow-up skills.

Promotion skills - ability to sell a program. Experience with various computer systems and programs.

This individual may receive, sort, compound, processe and prepares medication orders under the supervision of a pharmacist. As the intern progresses, and demonstrates an increase in ability, the preceptor will grant increased responsibility. Other duties as assigned. Summary: Accepted to a doctor of pharmacy program at a degree granting institution or enrolled in their first year of a doctor of pharmacy program at a degree granting institution. Other information: Must complete a competency checklist within three months of completing orientation and training sessions.
