Sentara Health is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for Sentara Louise Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia!
Sign-On Bonus up to $5,000 offered to qualified candidates!
Status: Full Time (40 hours)
Work hours: 8 hour rotating shift between 8:45am- 7:15pm, M to F
Location: Main location is Sentara Louise Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia.
Need to be open to report to the following hospitals for coverage needs with mileage reimbursement:
Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center
Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton, Virginia
Job responsibilities:
Will perform primarily data entry for the system
Support outpatient pharmacy by remote data entry for all sites/hospitals (workload balancing) and monitor/manage queues
Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. Measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders. Responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient-focused, and cost-efficient drug therapy. No compounding
Required qualifications:
Virginia Pharmacy Technician license REQUIRED
Pharmacy Technician Registration Number and Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) REQUIRED
Preferred qualifications:
Great communication skills
Strong data entry experience and insurance adjudication knowledge
Prior retail pharm experience preferred
Working knowledge of: Epic and MckessonRX
