Pharmacy Technician
Marathon Health is seeking a full time Pharmacy Technician to assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist at our near-site corporate health and wellness center in Harahan, LA.
Role highlights include:
40 hour per week position ―no weekends required!
Schedule- Mon thru Thurs 7:30am-5:00pm and Fri 8am-12noon

Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in preparing prescription medications under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. You will also oversee the acquisition of medications and pharmacy supplies and perform administrative duties such as answering phones, ringing up member purchases, and stocking inventory and supplies. You will also follow methods and manner of storage and recordkeeping systems to provide for the safekeeping of pharmaceuticals. Lastly, you will follow established policies and procedures to work in clinic environment involving possible exposure to potentially hazardous materials and situations that require safety precautions and may include use of personal protective equipment.
Qualifications
At least 2 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:
At least 1 year community and/or clinical pharmacy work experience
At least 1 year additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education
High School Diploma
Pharmacy Technician - State Board (required where available) or Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) (required where state-issued license is not available) - Multiple Issuers
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree in Health Care, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Multiple Issuers
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
COVID-19 Vaccinations are not mandated at Marathon Health unless there are specific client requirements or applicable state laws.
