Position Summary:

Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure the customer's return visit. This is accomplished in many ways including, but not limited to; treating our customers/employees in a fair and ethical manner, promoting an inclusive work environment, being a responsible member of the community, providing the right products at the right time with fair and accurate pricing. Essential Job Functions:

  • Enter patient's information into computer accurately and efficiently.

  • Tender customer transactions in a quick and efficient manner.

  • Promote for sale to our customers any current charitable promotions.

  • Understand and follow the guidelines in scanning every item.

  • Understand and follow the company guidelines on tendering electronic fund transactions such as Credit/Debit Cards, EBT and Gift Cards, as well as cash and check transactions.

  • Understand and adhere to guidelines on accepting and tendering vendor coupons, limits on cash shortages and company shrink guidelines.

  • Understand the operation of the cash register and follow all cashier handling policies to prevent loss.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work station.

  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold throughout the store.

  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.

  • Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.

  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.

  • Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud.

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pharmacy Technician will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. * Labels products under Pharmacist's supervision counts medications and assist with the delivery of medications/supplies to patient care area. * Assist pharmacist in the preparation of medication carts I.V.'s medication dispensing system prepacking and identifies and replaces outdated or unusable drugs. * Assists Pharmacist with the information required to consult with patients regarding medications or supplies prescribed including dosage frequency specialized requirements and possible drug interactions. * Assist Pharmacist in providing optimal drug therapy by ordering within formulary guidelines performing chart review and monitoring departmental expenditures. * Accesses inputs and retrieves prescription information from computer. * Refers doctors' calls and patients' medical inquiries to Pharmacist. * Assist Pharmacy Manager in the administration of pharmacy services and training. * Assist pharmacy staff with procurement procedures. * Responsible for generating reports i.e. patient charges billing and purchasing. * Assist with information technology functions. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned including other hospital projects. Requires broad training in fields such as business administration accountancy sales marketing computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor's Degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of two (2) years directly related and progressively responsible experience; certified with a state or national technical certification organization. * Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing * Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints * Strong interpersonal skills * Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and creatively in order to improve customer satisfaction * Familiarity with pharmaceutical products services and drug interactions * Strong organizational skills; attention to detail * Good analytical skills Amerisourcebergen Corporation - Corporate Knoxville TN
