Providence is calling a Pharmacy Technician (Per Diem, Variable shifts) to Providence Centralia Hospital in Centralia, WA.

The pharmacy tech supports Pharmacy services under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist.

In this position you will:

  • Assist licensed pharmacists to formulate, label and dispense medications and other health care products in accordance with regulatory requirements

  • Fills and dispenses unit dose, IV Admixtures, and/or chemotherapeutic medications under the direction of pharmacists

  • Collect & verify patient medication histories

  • Perform routine pharmacy work that may include inventory, sterilization and maintaining patient records

  • Calculate drug volumes to deliver correct dosages

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician Level A training program certified by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy or equivalent educ/experience

  • Experience with telephone call prioritization.

  • Experience with stressful/urgent need situations.

  • 3 months of Practical experience in a hospital pharmacy under the direct supervision of pharmacist.

  • Experienced in IV admixture/aseptic techniques.

  • Active WA Pharmacy Technician license from the Washington State Department of Health (PHTECHL).

  • Current Pharmacy Technician National Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) with in 90 days of hire.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • One to two years previous hospital pharmacy experience

Schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Must have or be willing to get there WA State Pharmacy Assistant license if hired.
