Job Summary

• Pharmacy Technician-in-Training assists in drug preparation, storage, distribution, and inventory management within a variety of pharmacy environments.

• This entry-level position participates in and completes Avera Health's Pharmacy Technician Education Program within 12 months of hire in order to become a certified pharmacy technician.

• Upon completion of the education program and successful Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) examination, the technician-in-training will be promoted into the role of pharmacy technician.

• Avera Health's Pharmacy Technician Education Program consists of 600 hours of combined didactic, simulation, and experiential learning activities.

• Avera Health requires a two-year employment commitment upon completion of the Pharmacy Technician Education Program.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Associates degree preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Ability to become registered with respective state's Board of Pharmacy required within 30 days of hire.

Work Schedule

• Varied Shifts; 72 hours every 2 weeks

• Weekdays: 6:30am-3:00pm, 8:00am-4:30pm, 12:30pm-9:00pm

• Weekends/holidays: 6:30am-5:00pm

• Every sixth weekend

• Every fifth holiday

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $18.00 - $24.50 per hour
