Description:

Greets members at front desk, enters information about prescriptions into computer system, receives payment from members, and prepares medications for approval by pharmacist. May perform the duties of a Pharmacy Inventory Technician or a Pharmacy Admixture Technician.

Essential Functions:

  • Greets members at counter or over the telephone, verifies member's eligibility status, and receives prescriptions from members for pharmaceuticals.

  • Enters prescription information into computer system and prints labels for use by pharmacist.

  • Receives payment according to terms of members' plan.

  • Selects requested drugs from Baker cell dispenser or counts drugs from pharmacy shelf.

  • Reconstitutes medications by mixing with fluids.

  • Prepares intravenous prescriptions, topical ointments, and other drugs by mixing prescribed dosages.

  • Attaches labels to container for review by pharmacist.

  • Calls members to pick-up completed prescription.

  • Receives payment for over-the-counter medications and medical supplies selected by members.

  • Answers routine inquiries from members regarding health plan drug coverage, prices, and related issues.

  • Identifies situations when patient should speak with pharmacist regarding use of drugs and asks pharmacist to speak to member.

  • Orders and stocks drugs and supplies, assembles drugs and supplies for clinical departments, stocks crash carts, and performs other inventory duties.

  • Performs other related duties as directed.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

  • One (1) year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician required.

Education

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration

  • Compliance with all state board of pharmacy rules and licensing requirements where applicable required.

  • Active CPHT certification required. (Pharmacy students are exempted from the CPHT requirement where applicable).

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, generic drug names, pharmaceutical calculations, and ability to assume responsibility for coordinating drug inventory control in medical clinics.

  • Proficiency in the use of applicable computer software.

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program or US Military programOR one (1) year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.

The ECM Electronics Technician II supports U.S. Department of State ECM requirements in multiple overseas theaters in potentially high-threat environments. During overseas deployments, the ECM Electronics Technician II may be required to rotate between theaters and to multiple locations within each theater. The ECM Electronics Technician II will demonstrate broad knowledge of ECM through successful completion of moderately complex assignments. The ECM Electronics Technician II will apply complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. The ECM Electronics Technician II will demonstrate proficiency in ECM concepts, practices, and procedures and provide guidance on ECM issues. Requirements/Qualifications: Must have a current US Government SECRET Personnel Security Clearance. Must be eligible for and able to obtain and maintain required Security Clearance/access approvals. A TOP SECRET Personnel Security Clearance may be required to meet changing requirements. Must possess at least three years of technical experience in the technical support for modern ECM systems; knowledge of radio frequency (RF) theory and principle, and the effects of CREW systems operating in an electronic countermeasures environment; experience planning vehicle movements, with vehicles equipped with CREW systems; understanding insurgent Improvised Explosive (IED) emplacement tactics. Must be able to develop Techniques, Tactics, and Procedures (TTP's) for deploying vehicles equipped with CREW systems based on the national, local, and immerging Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) threat. Must demonstrate proficiency with ECM systems used by the U.S. Department of State, including the CREW-2 (Duke), EGON, and Symphony systems. Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision. Must demonstrate the ability to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner. Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a cohesive team. Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects, and have strong attention to detail. Must possess excellent writing and verbal skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows operating systems and office automation software (e.g., Microsoft Office, SharePoint). Travel Requirements: May be required to travel OCONUS to conduct installation, training or maintenance at diplomatic facilities. OCONUS travel may include critical threat locations around the world with austere living conditions. Domestic travel may be required for training and program coordination.
