Location: The Pharmacy Tech can work in the Atlanta GA, Mason Ohio, or Virginia Beach VA office.

The Pharmacy Tech II is responsible for provider-facing interactions regarding preauthorization requirements for injection/infusion drugs covered under Medicare Part B.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Processes prior authorization requests from physicians' offices and ensures compliance with Medicare requirements.

  • Enters and validates information regarding injectable/infusion requests in the appropriate preauthorization system and reviews accurate transmission to the appropriate claims system.

  • Places outbound and receive inbound calls related to requests for clinical information required to complete reviews.

  • Compiles and documents productivity on designated system.

The Pharmacy Technicians employs intellectual, interpersonal and technical skills through the utilization of the pharmacy process to assist providers in successfully completing the preauthorization process.

  • Requires a high school diploma; 2 years of pharmacy experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Current State Pharmacy Technician License and National Certification are required.

  • Prior call center experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong computer skills highly preferred.
