Overview Direct, assist and train technician 1 personnel. Ensure that technician 1 personnel are performing required duties.
Assist technician 1 personnel in the performance of their duties. a) Manage omnicell medication lists, add and delete access as requested by the director. Manage medication recalls. or b) Assist the director in schedule preparation. Manage outdate checking.
Manage sterility testing and record keeping. or c) Manage medication procurement. Attend buyers group meetings. Inform and consult with director regarding medications in short supply or that are or will be unavailable.
Prepare medication and deliver or cause to be delivered to the patient within 1 hour. Prepare IV admixture solutions as required using aseptic technique. Print medication labels. Prepare and file paperwork, (logs, controlled substance forms). Performs other related duties as requested by the pharmacy director.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Assists with, maintains and adheres to established ministerial, facility and departmental polices, procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Demonstrates high level of proficiency in EPIC, Omnicell and Medi dose pharmacy computer systems.
Demonstrates the ability to review MAR and medication orders, answer questions and troubleshoot. Runs fill lists and reports as required. Proficient in ordering and receiving medication, including controlled substances.
Ensures that monthly floor and cart inspections are completed. Ensures that sterility testing and documentation is up to date. Corrects and troubleshoots charge issues.
Helps maintain central pharmacy med lists. Assists with stocking of ordered medications. Assists with documentation and replacement of missing medications.
Ensures that IV fill lists, automatic stop orders, charge sheets, medical expense summaries, omnicell error logs, and other reports are being on the computer as requested. Ensures recording of daily refrigerator temperatures. Ensures recording of IV room pressure logs.
Ensures that outdated medications are removed and quarantined. Read, signs and responds to memos. Ensures required CE is current and maintains copies.
Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings. Maintains pharmacy technician board certification.

Missouri Pharmacy Technician Registration (or eligible),PTCB eligible Board certification, Other: Good reading and comprehension skills Good basic math skills Familiarity with computers Preferred Education: Some post high school education Preferred Licensure:
