About the Job
Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is one of the world's premier health care organizations, pioneering innovative treatments and highly specialized surgery utilizing cutting edge technology. Under the supervision of an inpatient pharmacist, you will:
Ensure that patients receive the correct medical in a safe and timely manner
Deliver medication to the patient care units
Accurately fill medications from the list provided by the automated dispensing machine
Deliver medications to the automated dispensing machines on the patient care units in an accurate and timely manner; checking for errors such as expiration dates and wrong strengths
Repackage and compound medications, as needed
Maintain appropriate inventory levels by rotating stock, checking for expired medications, informing pharmacy buyer when inventory is low and checking on wholesale orders
Answer phone calls, triage requests and follow through with appropriate action(s)
Actively participate in continuous performance improvement activities of the department, including providing suggestions on how to improve day-to-day operation.
Ideal candidates will be a registered technician with the MA Board of Pharmacy.
Full Time, 40 Hrs, Evening Shift
Under direct supervision, assists in dispensing of prescriptions; counts, packages and labels the prescription vials for final verification. Greets patients for receiving prescriptions and uses the cash register for sales of pharmaceuticals. Performs a range of routine administrative tasks and staff support functions for the pharmacy as required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Assists the pharmacist in dispensing of prescriptions; counts, packages and labels the prescription vials for final verification.
Greets patients at the drop-off area and obtains patient demographics for prescription processing.
Greets patients at the pick-up area; collects the appropriate co-payments for the prescriptions and perform all cash register functions for the final sale.
Assists in quality control and inventory control of the medications and supplies within the department.
Performs a range of routine administrative tasks for the pharmacy as required.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Incorporates Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles , Mission Statement and Goals into daily activities.
Complies with all Lahey Clinic Policies.
Complies with behavioral expectations of the department and Lahey Clinic.
Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.

Education: High School Diploma or GED
? Must be a registered technician or Pharmacy intern with the MA Board of Pharmacy. Pharmacy
Technician Certification preferred.

? Minimum of two years working as a pharmacy technician or possession of pharmacy intern
license with experience in a retail or community setting preferred.
? Ideal candidate demonstrates proficiency in obtaining accurate patient medication histories
? Trained in general use of pharmacy computer systems
