Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician at Sentara Leigh Hospital for our Inpatient Pharmacy!

Sign On Bonus up to $5,000 Offered for qualified candidates!

Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)

Shift: Rotating (8.5hr shift)

Hours: 6am-11pm

Weekends: Every Other Weekend

Holiday Rotation

Required qualifications:

• Virginia Pharmacy Technician license

• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - required if licensed in VA after 7/1/2021

Preferred qualifications:

• 1 year Hospital Pharmacy Technician experience preferred -or-
• 3 years Retail or Outpatient Pharmacy Technician experience preferred

Job responsibilities:

• Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist

• Measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders

• Responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient-focused, and cost-efficient drug therapy.

This hospital includes a dedicated Orthopedic Hospital providing patients access to a full continuum of orthopedic care, from the preoperative phase and surgery to rehabilitation and home care services. Along with being a recognized accredited Primary Stroke Center, and Magnet hospital for nursing excellence, we also specialize in orthopedic and spine care, heart, vascular, maternity care, and general surgery. Job Summary
