As a per diem, nonexempt CPS Solutions, LLC Pharmacy Technician at Horizon Specialty Hospital-Las Vegas, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The majority of your responsibilities will be related to preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications. Other duties will include maintaining patient records, setting up and packaging of IV admixtures, sterile compounding (IV admixture), Med-dispense refill, floor stock maintenance, out dates check, and labeling of medication doses and billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.
Schedule: This per diem, nonexempt position provides coverage a minimum of 4 hours per month up to 19 hours/week for staff PTO or as needed. Pharmacy hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00am-12:00noon. This position does not have regularly scheduled hours.
Pay Range: $20-$24/hour based on experience.
About the Facility: Horizon Specialty Hospital of Las Vegas is a 61-bed Long Term Acute Care facility located near UMC and Valley Hospital next to Interstate 15. Horizon Specialty Hospital offers quality care to a wide range of patients. Horizon values and supports pharmacy staff. CPS Solutions, LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions, LLC.
About the Pharmacy: Pharmacy hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am-12:00noon. Evenings and nights are handled by CPS Telepharmacy Services. The Pharmacy is centralized and uses Med-dispense and HCS Medics.
Required Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED
Current Nevada Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
Previous employment beyond an externship as a pharmacy technician required, hospital setting preferred
IV experience preferred
Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Hospital Requirements:
(MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving immunity
(Flu) Influenza - required for hire between October 1st
Respirator FIT Mast Test
Hepatitis B (recommended but not required)
COVID - Full Vaccine (required)
