This is a full-time float pharmacy tech role which will work in our Seattle medical clinics.

Summary

The Pharmacy Technician Float will provide coverage support to all Neighborcare pharmacies located across the Seattle region. The Pharmacy Technician Float under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist accurately and timely fills patient's prescriptions and will work in partnership and joint accountability with other team members to achieve Neighborcare Health's Mission, Guiding Principles and Goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Travel to different pharmacy locations as required; Accurately and efficiently complete all steps of reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing under the direct supervision of the pharmacist.

  • Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities except those that require a pharmacist's professional judgement; Comply with Neighborcare policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and protect patient privacy and security.

  • Handle cash drawer; responsible for daily deposits and reconciliation; Place, receive, unpack and store drug orders; Maintains inventory; File and retrieve pharmacy records; Maintain assigned work areas and equipment in clean and orderly condition.

  • Answers phone, triage calls, and answer inquiries as appropriate; Assist in training pharmacy staff; Able to interpret written prescriptions, perform pharmacy calculations, and maintain efficiency and accuracy.

  • Strong interpersonal and people skills; and be a team player who promotes a positive team environment; Perform patient engagement activities such as patient outreach, medication adherence monitoring, and patient health outcomes monitoring.

Key Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Knowledge of and skill in the use of personal computers with the ability to learn and use company software programs; Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with people of varied racial, educational and socio-economic backgrounds, as well as individuals with disabilities and contagious diseases.

  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive patient information and comply with HIPAA/Confidentiality policies; Ability to follow written and verbal directions and to complete assigned tasks.

  • Ability to be detail oriented, organized, a multi-tasker, problem solver and have excellent follow-through; Ability to read, write and communicate in English and understand basic math.

  • Ability to learn from directions, observations and mistakes; and apply procedures using good judgment; Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team; ability to interact appropriately with co-workers and patients.

  • Ability to remain calm and professional when faced with difficult situations and or emergencies; Ability to type a minimum of 30 wpm.

  • Ability to maintain predictable, reliable and timely attendance; Strong time management skills; Ability to provide good customer service through compassion and efficiency;

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Required: High school diploma or equivalency.

License/Registration/Certification

Required: Active Pharmacy Technician license with the State of Washington by date of hire

Experience

Required: 1-2 years' experience in an out-patient setting.
