New technicians are required to complete our extensive training program for Pharmacy Technicians and satisfy all registration, licensing and certification requirements according to your state's Board of Pharmacy guidelines.

  • As allowable in applicable states, certified and trained Pharmacy Technicians can expand on their clinical and managerial responsibilities, including administering vaccinations.

Physical Demands

  • Standing / walking for an extended period of time.

  • Near vision; ability to see details at close range to perform activities such as: transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, visual inspection involving small parts

  • Wrist / finger speed; ability to make fast, simple, repetitive movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.

  • Ability to push and pull objects, including drawers and other items of similar weight, as well as reaching overhead.

  • Ability to handle and work with small instruments and objects.

  • Bending/squatting/leaning to a considerable degree and requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.

  • Is able to load and unload trays/cases/totes (30 pound maximum to a height of 4 feet).

  • Auditory attention; ability to focus on a single source of sound in the presence of other distracting sounds.

  • Effective verbal communication; expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word, especially when detailed or important instructions must be conveyed accurately.

  • Ability to move quickly from one task to another according to the needs of the pharmacy.

  • The ability to concentrate on a task for significant periods of time.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age

  • Licensure requirements vary by state. Learn more by visiting your state's Board of Pharmacy website or asking the hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.

  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

  • National Certification from an accredited pharmacy technician certification program approved by specific state regulations (e.g. PTCB, ExCPT, etc.).

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).

VIEW JOBS 2/15/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-15T00:00 General Summary & Essential Responsibilities Performs installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of water, wastewater and treatment plant systems and appurtenances as assigned. Responsible for fabrication, repair and installation of equipment and appurtenances necessary for proper operation of all systems. Work is performed under general supervision and reviewed through proper functioning of equipment, systems, discussion and report analysis. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Installs, maintains and repairs water and sewer lines and related system components, including taps, valves, pumps, tanks, service lines, etc. * Inspects and evaluates condition of systems; diagnoses and corrects leaks, blockages or other problems; clears debris from manholes, water and sewer lines, easements, valve boxes, etc.; performs confined space entries; cleans manholes and lines; and changes out sewer rings and lids, etc. * Maintains lift stations: performs daily checks and preventative maintenance; monitors system operability and records, dials and charts; performs routine adjustments and repairs in response to monitoring results; and receives, responds to, and resolves complaints of odors and noise at lift stations. * Gathers tools and equipment needed to complete work activities; picks up and transports materials, tools and supplies; cleans and washes equipment and tools; performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment as needed; and notifies supervisor of needed equipment replacements and repairs. * Performs related activities: repairs asphalt, concrete, yards and other areas that are disrupted as a result of repair work. * Locates manholes, service connections, valves and other utilities utilizing global positioning system (GPS) and geographic information system (GIS) maps; and enters and updates department database with location details. * Participates in emergency response and scheduled on call program. * Performs related work as assigned and assists other departments and employees as required. * Provide exceptional customer assistance, problem-solving, and/or complaints by all forms of communication. Min. Education, Licenses and Certifications Minimum Education and Experience: * High school diploma or GED required. Licenses and/or Certificates: * Must obtain and maintain a valid Florida Class A driver's license, including appropriate endorsements within three (3) months of hire. * Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications within 6 months of hire. * Must pass and maintain respirator fit test and Pulmonary Function test for respiratory protection. * Depending on area of assignment, may be required to obtain and maintain one or more of the following certifications or licensures within two (2) years of hire: FWPCOA Wastewater Collection C and Water Distribution System Operation Level 3. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Ability to obtain the knowledge in the repair and maintenance of systems in the utility water/wastewater industry. * Ability to obtain the knowledge of the operation of equipment used in the installation maintenance and repair of collection and distribution and treatment plant systems. * Ability to obtain the knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions required in the workplace. * Ability to input information into a personal computer. * Ability to collect various samples from collection and distribution systems. * Ability to use sound judgment in detecting and correcting unusual conditions, or recommending repair scheduling. * Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and blueprints in performance of job duties. * Ability to present and maintain a high professional public image with good customer relations. * Ability to provide internal/external guidance and customer assistance via all forms of communication. Supplemental Information Working Conditions: Work is frequently exposed to raw wastewater and treated effluent, outdoor weather conditions or irate customers, extreme noise, odors, heights, and/or dust. Risk/Safety Conditions:The position requires moderate exposure or risk related to physical and/or mental health and safety (e.g., exposure to environmentally hazardous material, heavy equipment, assault and battery, communicable disease, etc.). Physical Activities: Stooping, crouching, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, hearing, seeing up close, seeing far away, kneeling, reaching, talking, standing, finger movement, repetitive motions, depth perception. Walking is frequently necessary along with pushing, pulling, and digging. Frequent lifting of 25 to 50 pounds; occasional lifting up to100 lbs.
