New technicians are required to complete our extensive training program for Pharmacy Technicians and satisfy all registration, licensing and certification requirements according to your state's Board of Pharmacy guidelines.

Physical Demands

  • Standing / walking for an extended period of time.

  • Near vision; ability to see details at close range to perform activities such as: transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, visual inspection involving small parts

  • Wrist / finger speed; ability to make fast, simple, repetitive movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.

  • Ability to push and pull objects, including drawers and other items of similar weight, as well as reaching overhead.

  • Ability to handle and work with small instruments and objects.

  • Bending/squatting/leaning to a considerable degree and requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.

  • Is able to load and unload trays/cases/totes (30 pound maximum to a height of 4 feet).

  • Auditory attention; ability to focus on a single source of sound in the presence of other distracting sounds.

  • Effective verbal communication; expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word, especially when detailed or important instructions must be conveyed accurately.

  • Ability to move quickly from one task to another according to the needs of the pharmacy.

  • The ability to concentrate on a task for significant periods of time.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age

  • Licensure requirements vary by state. Learn more by visiting your state's Board of Pharmacy website or asking the hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.

  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

  • National Certification from an accredited pharmacy technician certification program approved by specific state regulations (e.g. PTCB, ExCPT, etc.).

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Prepares plans and sketches for a wide variety of street, drainage sanitary improvement projects. Creates and edits a variety of GIS based sketches and graphic indices. Assists the City Surveyor with topographic and property surveys. Examples of Duties * Performs difficult surveying calculations in the preparation of property acquisition plats, sketches, road, drainage and sanitary sewer improvement plans, etc. Performs calculations to determine property boundaries, city easements and rights-of-way, property ownership, etc. * Researches and analyzes property information including recorded plats and maps, subdivision maps, aerial photographs, survey and engineering data, reference maps and other records or data in the preparation of survey plats. Researches courthouse deeds and other records to obtain required information. * Generates survey plats and completes a variety of engineering drawings. Utilizes personal computer to assist in automated calculations and drafting. * Assists the City Surveyor, in the field, with topographic and property surveys. and improvement project construction stakeout. * Creates and maintains as needed, GIS based graphical indices for the retrieval of project improvement and development plans, and site plans. * Prepares GIS based sketches and drawings, showing underground infrastructure information and above ground topographical features. * Creates and maintains a variety of computer based spreadsheets. * Performs other related duties as required. Typical Qualifications Graduation from high school or completion of the GED, preferably supplemented by specialized training courses in elementary and advanced surveying, drafting and design, algebra and trigonometry. Requires a minimum of five (5) years' experience in land surveying, which includes survey calculations experience, drafting and design, cartography, and civil engineering. Must have passed, or obtain within 6 months of employment, the Virginia Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) exam. Thorough knowledge of land surveying principles and practices and the ability to perform difficult surveying calculations; thorough knowledge of coordinate geometry, "cogo", and AutoCAD® computer aided drafting and design (CADD); ability to perform property research; proficiency in use of personal computers; ability to make sound judgement in the determination of boundaries, rights-of-way, property ownership, etc.; extensive knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office® programs, in particular Excel®, Word® and Outlook®; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with other personnel and the general public.
