Pharmacy Technician - Full-Time

Description: As a full-time, nonexempt, Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) Pharmacy Technician at Medical Plaza Pharmacy, You'll assist in various pharmacy activities, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, and other duties requested by the pharmacist on duty not requiring the review of a pharmacist.

The majority of tasks and responsibilities are directly related to interpreting, entering, preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications, while maintaining excellent customer service with patients at the counter and via telephone. You will assist with purchasing medications for the pharmacy and restock pharmacy shelves. You will perform job duties under minimal supervision within pharmacy standards, written procedures and guidelines, and state regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for the accurate completion of daily activities and the follow through of tasks to ensure completion.

Schedule: This position will work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm.

About the Facility: Medical Plaza Pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm and is a stand alone pharmacy that is located within Lake Charles Memorial Hospital by the medical staff offices.

This pharmacy will provide services to discharged patients, hospital employees and the retail community. Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • At least 1 year of previous experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy

  • LA Licensure/Registration/Certification requirements

  • Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office

  • Effective communications skills; verbal and written
