Roles & Responsibilities: Assist registered pharmacists, as directed, in compounding, preparing, labeling, or dispensing of drugs used to fill valid prescriptions or medication orders, on in compounding, preparing, labeling in anticipation of a valid prescriptions or medication order, where such tasks require no clinical judgment.

Maintains an accurate, current census, including cassette bin labels, for all assigned areas. Completes documentation as required. Maintains adequate inventory of medications, supplies.

Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Maintains an accurate, current census, including cassette bin labels, for all assigned areas. 2. Maintains adequate inventory at all times, such as medications, intravenous supplies.

Maintains stock of satellites, automated dispensing machines, urgent stock. 3. Returns reusable medications to stock before the end of the shift, including processing of controlled substance returns. 4. Prepares medications and puts into cassettes, automated dispensing, urgent stock; these medications must be checked by a pharmacist.

Accurately fills these medication needs and performs statistical count of all doses when needed. 5. Exchanges cassettes/patient-specific bins per schedule established by management. 6. Assists in exchange of crash cart trays and auxiliary stock. 7.

Conducts all required deliveries and other patient care area rounds in a timely fashion as directed by management. 8. Repackages medications as per departmental policy. 9. Prepares parenteral products under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, after appropriate training.

This may include reconstitution of medications with appropriate diluents and adding to infusion bags using aseptic technique, defrosting frozen medic 10. Prepares labels and affixes to product as required. Prepares medications for review by a pharmacist. 11.

Obtains required signatures when delivering/provisioning controlled substances, prescription pads. 12. Performs inspections of pharmacy, nursing unit and/or clinic locations. Checking of refrigerator temperature and documentation therein. 13.

Routinely checks for and removes expired medications from inventory. 14. Completes all required documentation and maintains records. 15. Completes audits of controlled substances as directed. 16.

Assists in reporting and resolving controlled substance discrepancies. 17. Assists in quality control projects as assigned within the department. 18. Effective communication with nursing and other services in person and via telecommunications. 19.

Maintains work environment in a clean, neat and orderly fashion. 20. Conducts all required functions under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. 21. Under the supervision of a pharmacist and after appropriate training, obtains medication information/history from patients and/or their caregiver for Input into the electronic medical record.

Requirements: Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Experience: Successful completion of a technician training program, or equivalent experience (as determined by the Director). The salary range for the role is $35.2672 - $35.2672 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
