GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Pharmacy Technician Buyer and CDM Analyst is responsible for managing the pharmacy Charge Description Master and ensuring that the pharmacy provides accurate charges on a daily basis. The Pharmacy Technician Buyer and CDM Analyst facilitates the procurement of cost-effective drug therapies that meet the needs and promote desirable outcomes of our patients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures for the procurement of medications, recalled medications, and expired medications.
Ensure the pharmacy is in good standing with all regulatory compliance standards as required by Kansas Board of Pharmacy, Joint Commission, FDA, DEA, CMS, etc.
Provide leadership and serves as a role model and resource person for the health system pharmacy team. Coordinates implementation of initiatives to develop cost-effective purchasing strategies.
Initiate, analyze and review monthly and annual reports to determine compliance with initiatives and value propositions.
Procure medications for all HRHS entities as necessary.
Responsible for the policies and procedures regarding the pharmacy annual inventory.
Build and maintain accurate charge codes.
Perform and follow-up with appropriate health team members to ensure accurate and complete handing of missing charges and billing.
Conduct quality control audits to ensure data/documentation integrity and communicate findings with pharmacy leadership including the IT pharmacists.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulatory policies governing pharmacies/pharmacists.
Ability to understand and analyze payor regulations and the impact to the Chargemaster on reimbursement and coding guidelines.
Basic computer skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five (5) years of hospital pharmacy experience
A Bachelor of Science degree can substitute for five (5) years of hospital pharmacy experience
Three (3) years of purchasing experience
REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
Kansas State Board of Pharmacy Technician license active and in good standing
Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician
