As a Pharmacy Technician, you can become a true partner-in-health for our patients and community. This position allows you to use a broad set of skills, ranging from detailed-oriented to big-picture. The Pharmacy Technician is an integral part of the high-volume pharmacy operation and must be able to:
Build guest confidence through patient understanding, and by providing positive, friendly and helpful service to each guest.
Accurately fill and refill prescriptions under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist within the guidelines of federal, state, and local legal requirements.
Maintain and stock automated dispensing units.
Order product, properly check in drug orders and put merchandise in its correct location.
Communicate with doctor's offices and insurance companies for billing and patient needs.
Show proficiency in typing and computer operation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must be formally licensed by the State Board of Pharmacy through the State of Washington.
Willing to work a flexible schedule that may include holidays
Able to read, write, speak, and understand conversational English to correctly communicate with customers, physicians and nurses.
Constant standing with frequent walks of a short distance.
Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. from floor to chest. Frequently lift 1-2 lbs. from floor to 7ft.
Frequently bend or stoop to stock below waist level shelves and to remove merchandise. Crouching, twisting, or pivoting at the waist and kneeling or squatting to low shelves is often required.
Frequent repetitive hand movements and fine finger manipulation to operate cash register and the Pharmacy keyboard and mouse.
Constant handling and grasping of merchandise, containers, and/or cartons.
