Job Brief:

Responsibilities:

The Pharmacy Assistant plays a critical role of establishing rich one-on-one relationships with our guests. They fulfill many needs around prescription and order processing, and often have excellent attention to detail.

  • Builds guest confidence through patient understanding, and by providing a positive, friendly and helpful service to each guest.

  • Run the cash register, taking refill and new prescription orders via the counter and phone, advising patients on wait times and insurance coverage issues.

  • Answer general customer questions regarding pharmacy or store information, both at the register and via the phone.

  • Ensures that each guest receives the appropriate counseling from the Pharmacist and all necessary information concerning their prescriptions.

  • Support the pharmacy team by assisting with ordering, restocking, creating and updating purchase orders, acknowledging invoices, generating prescription labels, stocking the pharmacy with supplies.

  • Support store operations by working in the front of the store as directed by the pharmacy manager

  • Maintain a clean and orderly space for the pharmacy team.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Active Pharmacy Assistant license required.

  • Six months of prior retail experience preferred.

  • 18 years of age or older required.

  • Willing to work a flexible schedule that may include holidays.

  • Must be able to quickly and accurately perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, decimals, fractions, percentages, and dollars.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend conversational English.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constant standing, handling and grasping of merchandise, containers, and/or cartons.

  • Frequently must be able to lift 1-2 lbs. from floor to 7 feet. Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. from floor to chest.

  • Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, crouching, twisting, or pivoting at the waist and kneeling or squatting to stock below waist level shelves

  • Frequent repetitive hand movements and fine finger manipulation

VIEW JOBS 4/13/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-12T00:00 Job Summary: Produces the highest quality compounded sterile pharmaceuticals for administration to patients by placing absolute safety of the patient as first priority. Responsible for all cleanroom activities and monitoring of the sterile environment. Works collaboratively with team to evaluate work practices to ensure accuracy and safety. Primary Duties Accurately selects the sterile product(s) to be compounded and calculates the amount to be measured, diluted, and mixed. Selects the appropriate diluent(s) and supplies with which to perform the compounding and the packaging for the final prepared compounded sterile product (CSP). Maintains a sterile environment in the cleanrooms through strict adherence to policies and procedures. Includes monitoring of proper airflow and pressures, cleaning of products and supplies entering the cleanroom, compliance with handwashing and garbing, and performing daily/monthly cleaning. Adheres to United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Chapter 797 standards for minimizing microbial contamination of CSPs; performs proper aseptic technique when preparing CSPs; appropriately labels and assigns beyond-use dates and ensures proper CSP storage. Maintains adequate inventory levels of medications and supplies in the cleanrooms and general sterile products and injectable/IV areas. Orders and receives products from Central Distribution. Communicates medication needs with the Pharmacy Purchaser. Checks and removes outdated CSPs in a timely manner. Prioritizes orders and mixes CSPs in a timely manner to meet department and organization patient care demands. Constantly communicates with other technicians and pharmacists to assess workflow and assist where needed. Batches orders of CSPs in anticipation of patient care needs. Calibrates equipment to ensure accuracy of volumes of medication and/or diluent to be delivered. Accurately documents the compounded product in the electronic compounding record. Completes all daily tasks as assigned in a timely and efficient manner. See technician standard work for a list of shift responsibilities. Participates in all aspects of cleaning the cleanrooms, including daily and monthly cleaning requirements. Participates in annual training and competency assessment requirements for cleaning. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: REQUIRED for the position: High School graduate or equivalent Current Washington State Pharmacy Technician license Two years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital setting Six months of experience with sterile compounding Skills necessary to perform sterile and non-sterile extemporaneous drug compounding Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication / interpersonal skills Able to utilize critical thinking skills when making decisions and adapt well to changing circumstances Demonstrated organizational ability Able to work efficiently and accurately in busy and stressful situations DESIRED for the position: 1-2 years of sterile compounding experience Apply here: Are you a current EVERGREENHEALTH employee?
