Pharmacy Technician

A&E Pharmacy is looking for a Full-Time Pharmacy Technician to join our team in our Arden Hills office. As a licensed Pharmacy Technician, you will perform functions related to the pharmacy. This role requires professional judgment and extensive technical training. We provide prescriptions to residents living in long term care; not to the general public. Long term care or retail experience is preferred.

The ideal candidate should be able to answer pharmaceutical questions and display exceptional customer service skills. The ideal candidate must display compassion and understanding in addition to attention to detail and excellent administrative skills.

Hours: 9:00 am to 5:30 pm for majority of shifts. This role will do one closing shift 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm and rotating weekends, every 4th weekend.

Wage: $18 - $30 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare prescriptions

• Prepare medication, as prescribed by physicians, under the guidance of the acting Pharmacist. Under the direction of Pharmacists, remove unneeded or outdated drugs from stock and prepare for return or disposal. Order, receive, and maintain the inventory to maintain tight security at all times.

• Provide administrative support

• Maintain a clean and organized environment, including the pharmacy stock and supply area. Document orders, prescriptions, purchase orders, stock, and disbursements into the computer system. Generate orders for drugs and supplies with the guidance from the Pharmacist. Will be in charge of heavy data entry responsibilities.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED certificate

• Two years+ Pharmacy Tex experience required

• Successful completion of a pharmacy technician training course and state licensing, as required

• Strong data entry experience with knowledge of pharmacy information systems

• National certification preferred but not required
