Pharmacy Technician 1 - Inpatient

JOB SUMMARY Under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, and following established policies and procedures, assist in the various activities of pharmacy practice such as preparation & dispensing of medications, medication distribution, non- sterile and sterile compounding, inventory management, including the use of automated medications cabinets, handling of controlled substances, and maintenance of assigned areas. Assesses the age-specific needs of the patients. Responsible for performing duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital and state and federal regulations.

• High School or General Equivalency (GED) Diploma. \

• Current Florida Pharmacy Technician registration/license.

• Ability to push, pull, or lift forty (40) pounds.

• Minimum of 6 months of experience or completion of externship at TGH required.

• In the absence of a current State of Florida, Board of Pharmacy issued permit as a Registration Pharmacy Technician, a current/active Pharmacy Intern permit, issued by State of Florida, Board of Pharmacy may be substituted.
