Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the pharmacists, performs order entry, clerical duties, inventory control, medication distribution, floor stock delivery, preparation of IV admixture using sterile technique and maintains records of distribution and assists in nursing inspections, participates in performance improvement and data collections activities. Provides pharmaceutical care for the following age groups: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Performs other tasks as assigned by the pharmacists.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1 year experience in Pharmacy State Certificate of Pharmacy Tech Starting in January 2013, all new hires require high school diploma or equivalent.

Monitors cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors. Meets the communication needs of the department. Transcribes physician orders in the absence of CPOE and EMR clinical documentation system. Verifies that lab tests and radiology tests have been ordered and done. Prepares and complies records in the Emergency Department. Orders supplies for the unit and prepares and completes each patient's chart for necessary forms needed on a daily basis. Able to assist nursing staff with indirect patient care duties as long as the activity does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.#LI-MB3 Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for all new hires, effective April 2014. Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) within 6 months of hire and maintain current. Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician preferred.
