The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for completion of tasks as delegated by the pharmacist in accordance with Florida law. Responsibilities will include any or all of the following: medication order entry, medication delivery, Acudose operation, order check-in, filling stock requisitions, filing orders, inventory management, ADT maintenance, computer/printer operation and maintenance, operation of pneumatic tubes, and crediting returned medications.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS-

  • One-year of formal education or training beyond High School is required.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.

  • Good math and communication skills required.

  • Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Florida.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Other duties may be assigned. * Full understanding of HIS, RIS, PACS to include ordering, monitoring workings, validation of images and completing studies * Ability to organize relative patient information, reports, and films (including priors) for interpretation * Interviews patients for history, obtains patient signature when applicable, explains exams and assists patients. * Produces images which demonstrate a thorough knowledge of MRI imaging. Understands department protocols. * Follows MRI safety protocols and policies. * Demonstrates ability to operate power injector system. * Identifies all patients using two patient identifiers (name and birth date). * Demonstrates caring, excellence, leadership, pride, teamwork, integrity and center wide standards for service. * Provides all aspects of patient care based on established standards. Demonstrates competency in all procedures within scope of practice, as appropriate to the ages of patients served; the ability to obtain information and interpret information in terms of the patient's needs; knowledge of growth and development and an understanding of the range of treatment of the patients. * Knows the general condition of the equipment at all times, knows how to operate all equipment required in the course of performing procedures. Documents failures in a timely manner. * Recognizes normal and abnormal image findings and reports to supervisor or radiologist. * Maintains proper stock of medical and clerical supplies. * Assists with rotating supplies and linen. * Starts and removes IV's for exams. * Collecting patient history including current medications, allergies, symptoms, height, weight, blood pressure, etc. * Escorting patients to exam/procedure rooms. Observes, records and reports patients conditions and reactions to drugs and treatments to providers. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS * High School or GED required. * Satisfactory completion of a formal Radiologic Technology Program in an approved school. * Registered with ARRT in Radiography (R) and (MRI) within one year of employment. * Minimum 1 year experience as MRI Technologist preferred. * Basic Life Support (BLS Provider) certification required with American Heart Association.
