Pharmacy Technician Supervisor

Full-Time, Second Shift

Description:

• Pharmacy Technician Supervisor is responsible for scheduling all technicians.

• They are also actively involved in quality improvement projects for the department in accordance with accredited hospital policies and procedures, ethical and professional practices, Joint Commission standards, and State and Federal requirements.

• Effectively coordinates training and competency assessments of Pharmacy Technicians

• Provides accurate and effective instruction for new staff.

• Assures staff compliance with USP795, 797, and 800.

• Provides initial training of aseptic technique.

• Assures compliance of staff with USP standards

• Has thorough knowledge of USP standards

• Assures compliance with scheduled cleaning tasks.

• Models professionalism.

• Has thorough knowledge of all drug distribution processes

• Assists in conflict resolution when necessary.

Requirements:

• Associate degree or previous supervisory experience preferred.

• Five years' experience as a hospital Pharmacy Technician.

• ·National Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board

• Required Kentucky Board of Pharmacy registration certificate for Pharmacy Technician
