As a provider-led multispecialty healthcare team, Faith Regional Physician Services is committed to delivering high-quality, comprehensive services to the people of Northeast Nebraska.Summary:Responsible for processing medication orders and patient charges; maintaining an adequate supply of medications and supplies; delivering medications; performing duties of pharmacy clerk or inventory control clerk when necessary; and receiving telephone calls and visitors to the pharmacy.The listing of job duties contained in this job description is not all inclusive. Duties may be added or subtracted at any time due to the needs of the organization.Responsibilities:Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:1.Understand and applies statutes and regulations of controlled substances. (Minimizes discrepancies in the Automated Dispensing Cabinet (ADCs), C-II's stored in Narc Vault, etc.)2.Able to access and use the department computers to enter orders, process daily medication fill process, retrieve e-mails, create and print labels, information cards, and other function of FRHS Network and Pharmacy Common.3.Able to process, fill and deliver the daily medication carts in an accurate/timely manner.4.Able to maintain adequate stock of medications through use of wholesaler and materials management department.5.Checks assigned outdates and processes outdated medications. Includes monthly inspection of assigned areas with a manual inspection of assigned ADCs contents twice a year.6.Able to perform duties of morning rounds, fill and replace floor stock and automated cabinets.7.Able to handle outside sales, and OTC sales.8.Able to perform non-sterile compounding and repackaging.9.Competent to perform necessary calculations and product identification.10. Competent to receive, fill and perform other necessary tasks associated with outpatient prescriptions.11. Knows and follows statutes and regulations regarding outpatient prescription maintenance.12. Consistently prepares product in a manner that allows pharmacist supervision for process validation.13. Properly performs duties relating to ADC support for the surgery and other areas.14. Keeps controlled substances properly controlled. Reconciles wasting of narcotic substances where needed. Works with staff to resolve discrepancies when needed.15. Learns and applies ADC software to add/delete product, adjust quantities, run reports for management and documentation, problem solving and education of other users.16. Able to performs a cycle count to ensure accurate inventory levels of all surgery ADCs17. Works with fellow technicians to ensure an inventory and expiration check on all ADCs once monthly. Ensures documentation of such.18. Accurately fills and maintains inventory levels of surgery ADC and others as needed.19. Responds to user crisis within surgery and other units.20. Complies with sterility/aseptic techniques required in the surgery suites.21. Assists in development and installation of other ADC suppliers when needed.22. Assists the Purchasing Tech with receiving the order, returns, invoices, etc.23. Properly performs duties relating to purchasing tech position.24. Sends a wholesaler order at the end of each shift. Observes contract compliance, cost of goods, formulary status, outpatient prescriptions and industrial request25. Removes expired goods from patient fill areas. Products are then either destroyed or sent via a return distributer in a timely manner.26. Obtains Lovenox Teaching Kits and stock when needed.27. Maintains documentation on how to order non-wholesaler items complete with names and account numbers.28. Keeps a running calendar of specialty items ordered and received.29. Keep expired narcs orderly; ensure proper and accurate inventory of items; achieve periodic destruction through a return distributer.30. Monitor fellow technicians supply orders from materials management. Assure supply of office supplies and appropriate levels of pharmacy supplies.31. Oversee and ensure compliance with checking/recording refrigerator/freezer temps; hood cleaning and other compliance duties as listed in Simplifi 79732. Utilizes the Simplifi 797 website to accurately maintain hood room modifications and outdates along with competency reviews and other compliance duties33. Certified Tech Duties (Tech II) - can be performed after completion of Critical Point Competencies and training in compounding.*
  • Knowledgeable about product storage requirements, IV stability and sterility, expirations of compounded items, labeling and manages compounded product to minimize waste. * Knowledgeable about the facilities and equipment used in sterile compounding, including proper use. * Knows and uses proper aseptic technic. Performs quality assurance tests as assigned.Hours will be dependent on patient census and workload. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, to include after-hours and weekends as necessary.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
