Under close supervision of the Pharmacist or other supervisory/management-level position in the facility obtains new prescription refill information from customers such as name address and health coverage.

This position is categorized as compliance critical and as such requires and is assigned specific responsibility for ensuring continual and proper compliance with all division corporate and regulatory requirements.

  • Labels products under Pharmacist's supervision counts medications stocks medication on shelves and assists customers on the telephone and in person.

  • Retrieves counts and measures drugs.

  • Assists Pharmacist with the information required to consults with patients regarding medications or supplies prescribed including dosage frequency specialized requirements and possible drug interactions; refers to exceptions computer to reference tote and order information.

  • Assists Pharmacist in price checking and restocking of drugs.

  • Accesses inputs and retrieves prescription information from computer; may trouble shoot and provide support with equipment and systems as required.

  • Refers doctors' calls and customers' medical inquiries to Pharmacist.

  • Performs related duties as assigned such as:

  • May direct work closely with and line balance other Pharmacy Technicians Monitor production demands and inventory levels during the shift

Normally requires a minimumof six (6) months directly related to dispensing in a pharmacyenvironment. Must have an unrestricted, current state license as aPharmacy Technician in resident state as required by state law.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Must be knowledgeable of medications (dosage forms, brand and generic names).

  • Six months of pharmacy related experience.

  • Required: Kentucky Board of Pharmacy registration certificate for Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern. (Within 30 days of hire date if you are a new registrant. If previously registered, you must have registration upon hire).

VIEW JOBS 11/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-04T00:00 Under general direction of the Director ofPharmacy Services, manages the daily pharmacy operations and staff, includinginterpreting physicians' prescriptions and compounds, dispensing medications withinregulatory guidelines, consulting with customers regarding use of medicationsand potential drug interactions, and handling complex problem resolution. * Responsible for the procurement and dispensing of inpatient medications; verifies prescribed medications according to professional standards, facility procedures, and state and federal legal requirements. * Maintains compliance with all applicable JCAHO Standards. * Maintains all Pharmacy Operational Policies and Procedures. * Consults with patients regarding medications or supplies prescribed, including dosage, frequency, specialized requirements and possible drug interactions. * Works closely with patient in order to answer all questions and/or concerns regarding their prescriptions. * Reviews and evaluates patient's plan of care for obvious conflicts. * Manages all associate relations functions for the staff pharmacist(s) and pharmacy technicians such as hiring, terminating and performance management. * Monitors the overall performance of staff members to ensure compliance with policies, practices and approved pharmaceutical dispensing processes. * Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and record keeping. * Makes recommendations to General Manager regarding any changes to operating procedures in an effort to facilitate smooth customer service operations. * Performs prescription verification of unit dose orders, order entry and verification of IV admixtures, providing technical guidance to staff pharmacist(s) and pharmacy technicians. * Responds to customer inquiries, requests and issues when situations get escalated to a higher level of authority. * Provides consulting on pharmaceutical matters to various levels of personnel regarding pharmacy operations. * Reviews daily reporting and scheduling of hours worked for the staff pharmacist(s) and pharmacy technicians. * Supervises activities relative to customer files and contacts, ensuring that they are updated as needed to comply with current licensing. * Leads department meetings and in-service training for staff pharmacist(s) and pharmacy technicians.. * Performs related duties as assigned. Requires broad training in fieldssuch as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computersciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a fouryear Bachelor's Degree program or equivalent combination of experience andeducation. Normally requires two (2) to four (4) years directly related andprogressively responsible experience, including at least one (1) year in amanagement role; a Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College ofPharmacy.
