JOB SUMMARY Under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, and following established policies and procedures, assist in the various activities of pharmacy practice such as preparation & dispensing of medications, medication distribution, non- sterile and sterile compounding, inventory management, including the use of automated medications cabinets, handling of controlled substances, and maintenance of assigned areas. Assesses the age-specific needs of the patients.
Responsible for performing duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital and state and federal regulations. Responsible for shift communications and organizing shift operations for the day Qualifications High School or General Equivalency (GED) Diploma Active Florida Pharmacy Technician registration Ability to push, pull, or lift forty pounds. Meets department competency requirements.
Achieves and maintains national certification or pharmacy intern license. 4 years hospital pharmacy experience required. Completion of leadership training. In the absence of a current State of Florida, Board of Pharmacy issued permit as a Registration Pharmacy Technician, a current/active Pharmacy Intern permit, issued by State of Florida, Board of Pharmacy may be substituted.
