Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Pharmacy Systems Support Specialist helps facilitate and support the design, development, implementation and maintenance of clinical and pharmaceutical terminologies, vocabularies and support infrastructure. This specialist will carry-out the duties required to manage and maintain the content and user access, as appropriate, within the applications used to support patient-care delivery.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: High school graduate with business, computer and medical background. Post High school courses in computer programming or software applications within three months' of hire.

Preferred/Optional: Graduate of a pharmacy technician program.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required: Three years' experience as a pharmacy technician.

Demonstrated knowledge of Wisconsin pharmacy law and third party pharmacy reimbursement rules. Knowledge and/or experience with computer software, particularly spreadsheets and databases utilizing Microsoft Office.

Preferred/Optional: Demonstrated knowledge of the Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) computer system is preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required:

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certificate awarded by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Pharmacy Technician registration or licensure or an application for pharmacy technician registration or licensure will be accepted if it is in pending status by the first date of employment. Registration/licensure must be obtained within 6 months. Registration/licensure must remain in good standing and current.

  • Security Health Plan employees do not have this minimum requirement.

Preferred/Optional: None

For Pharmacy System Support Specialist, Senior:

EDUCATION

Demonstrated knowledge of Wisconsin pharmacy law and third party pharmacy reimbursement rules. Knowledge and/or experience with computer software, particularly spreadsheets and databases utilizing Microsoft Office.

Preferred/Optional: Demonstrated knowledge of the Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) computer system. Fifteen years of pharmacy software experience with problem solving abilities.
