As the Pharmacy Supervisor, you will coordinate and supervise activities of assigned Pharmacy personnel, with the goal of providing efficient, timely, accurate pharmacy services.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise activities of pharmacists and technicians to assure expected level of services
Assures the proper maintenance and functioning of all satellite pharmacy operations
Responsible for the performance management and evaluation process of assigned personnel
Responsible for preparation of work schedule and updating of staff schedules
Participate in the development and review/modification of polices and/or procedures
Assist staff to perform at high level through utilization of the systemwide positive discipline process when needed
Demonstrate a Culture of Responsibility during event investigation, conversations with personnel and proactive identification/resolution of risky behavior
Participate on Pharmacy management team in planning and service coordination
Develop standards and monitor new order processing/dispensing accuracy and timelines
Develop and maintain positive relationships with key departmental customers on the Christiana campus to foster effective communication, problem-solving, and planning.
Represent the department on inter-departmental and system level projects/initiatives, assigned by the Vice President/Director(s)
Participate actively in the Departmental Performance Improvement Team, representing satellite operations
Assist in the selection and hiring of staff and coordinate their orientation and training
Assume staff and/or clinical pharmacist responsibilities as needed. Also, fill in staffing on any shift as needed for relief due to illness, short staffing and/or vacation
Address staffing shortage concerns due to call outs
Coordinate daily operations with Inpatient Supervisors, Directors, Purchaser and Timekeeper/Executive Assistant
Responsible for compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory standards as they apply, Maintain department reports and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes
Education and experience requirements:
Pharm.D or B.S Pharmacy
ASHP-Accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency preferred
Current licensure (or eligible to reciprocate) in the State of Maryland required; and
Current licensure in the State of Delaware also preferred
At least three years of hospital pharmacy experience (residency training counts towards minimum) required
Supervisory experience preferred
