Job Summary:

  • The Pharmacy Resident fulfills the requirements of the PGY-1 Residency Program at Parkridge Health System.

  • This position provides clinical services, staffing services, and drug information to patients, physicians, nurses, and other pharmacists as a primary responsibility.

  • The pharmacy practice resident completes a medication use evaluation and a major research project that is presented at a regional residency conference.

  • The Resident assists with the education of pharmacy students from colleges of pharmacy.

  • The Pharmacy Resident will be a fully integrated team member in the department, as such the Pharmacy Resident will assist in the performance of daily pharmacy tasks including but not limited to: filling orders for medications; monitoring patient medication therapies; providing drug information; checking medications, IV mixtures and compounded medications prior to distribution; maintaining records; supervision of technical staff; imitation and monitoring of drug dosing and drug information consults; other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Tennessee Registered Pharmacist within 60 days of hire date.

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD required.

  • Graduate of a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmacy Education.
