Primary Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate contracts with local pharmacy providers to ensure fair and reasonable compensation while maintaining company profits

  • Investigate reimbursement issues as reported from the pharmacy or Account Management team in preparation for the pricing committee review

  • Obtain proper approval for Custom NDC's from Account Management prior to sending to Provider Relations and Plan Design for system support

  • Call local pharmacies with Account Management team to troubleshoot processes and issues the pharmacies may be having

  • Manual Claims Processing as needed

  • Contact pharmacies that have billed families directly and have them reprocess the appropriate hospice meds through Optum and at the same time educate the pharmacies how to process claims electronically

  • Work directly with clients that need a pharmacy issue addressed ASAP

  • Find new pharmacies for hospices in troubled areas by cold calling on pharmacies and coming to agreements with the new providers

  • Work with corporate offices of the chains to make special arrangements for having needed stock in their pharmacies

  • Implementing processes with LTC pharmacies to ensure that all billing is done accordingly

  • Send contract requests to the Optum Pharmacy Addition team for new and existing pharmacies

  • Send some reimbursement issues to the Provider Relations team at Optum that may not be related to our MAC pricing

  • Participate on all calls that involve the client as it pertains to the implementation of a new group

  • Coordinate pharmacy calls to pharmacies for new clients and make sure the blast fax is sent

  • Complete special projects as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)

  • 2 years of PBM experience

  • 1-year experience within pharmacy

  • Pricing

  • Medication reimbursement

  • Intermediate level of proficiency within Microsoft Excel (filter, sort, create and edit spreadsheets) and Microsoft Word (creating and editing documents)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with Hospice PBM processes

  • Call center experience

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $16.00 to $26.88. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $16.83 to $29.66. Job Description Summary: The Patient Registration Coordinator is a key role in the transition of a patient coming onto Option Care services. Patient Registration Coordinators are responsible for coordinating transition services with internal and external partners to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all required documentation is of the highest quality while providing exceptional customer service. Patient Registration are responsible for proactively building strong relationships with referral sources, account managers, care transition coordinators and internal nursing, pharmacy and revenue cycle team members. Job Description: Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent) Interacts with external service providers and the Option Care Commercial Team to transition new patients onto service with Option Care. Coordinates the onboarding of referrals between different functional areas within Option Care including Pharmacy, Nursing, Warehouse and Revenue Cycle. Proactively maintains and grows relationships with referral sources and serves as a key point of contact and representative of Option Care. Attend meetings with key accounts as needed. Communicates frequently with the Commercial team to provide updates on patient referral status and resolve any related issues. Responsible for collecting, reviewing and completing applicable care transition documents. Participates with any data collection required. Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information and observes legal guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and proprietary Option Care information. Accountable for setting new patients up on autopay, discussing copay assistance plans and foundation assistance plans and transferring patients to patient pay team if applicable to discuss FAA and other payment options.
