Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Pharmacy Operations Manager and Pharmacy Director, the Pharmacy Regulatory, Compliance, and Diversion Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Assuring compliance with all regulations including Joint Commission, CMS, DPH, DEA, FDA, Board of Pharmacy, USP 797 and USP 800.

  • Overseeing and auditing all pharmacy controlled substance record keeping requirements and policies under the direction of the Pharmacy Operations Manager and Pharmacy Director.

  • Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive surveillance program to detect potential medication diversion.

  • Maintaining continued readiness for regulatory reviews including Joint Commission, CMS, and Board of Pharmacy.

  • Serving as a Pharmacy Liaison on all compliance and regulatory committees.

  • Conducting regular audits to assure compliance with all regulations.

  • Maintaining policies to meet regulatory compliance.

  • Conducting training for pharmacy, nursing, and providers on regulations.

  • Reporting any deviations to the Operations Manager and Pharmacy Director and helping to develop reports required for external reporting.

Scheduled Hours
40 hours per week, exempt.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors of Pharmacy or Pharm D required

  • At least two years hospital or regulatory experience required.

Certification/License:

Must be a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Massachusetts

About the Job Position Summary: Beverly Hospital, located in Beverly Massachusetts is part of the Lahey Health System. Beverly Hospital is a community hospital and consists of 10 operating rooms at the main campus and 4 operating rooms at the Lahey Outpatient Surgery Center located in Danvers, MA. We provide a wide range of specialties including; orthopedics, GYN, general, vascular, thoracic, spine, pediatrics, cysto, and ENT. The Coordinator of Administrative Billing assumes responsibility for the surgical billing/charging of patient profiles. Additionally, this role assists, coordinates, and maintains all administrative functions necessary to ensure efficiency of all administrative duties of the Department. Responsibilities * Answers and screens a variety of telephone calls, using discretion and tact to handle accordingly. * Acts as a liaison between the periop departments including informed delays, on time starts, etc. * Assists with completing payroll * Arranges, types and disseminates minutes of multiple committee meetings. * Reviews, make changes as necessary, and submits daily billing/charging for patient profiles. This includes reviewing/correcting case record data, anesthesia times and recovery times. Review data fields and correct errors entered for all case records. Inform Nurse Manager of critical documentation errors. * Reviews intraoperative billing to assure all products used have been appropriately charged. Review charges for all case records and make corrections as necessary to produce an accurate bill. * Completes case records and posts in Epic. Transmits charges within 24 hours of the case finish. * Participate in introduction of new products into the OR in relation to billing. * Provides administrative support to the Nurse Managers of Surgical Services, OR Business Manager and OR Clinical Coordinator. * Orders, distributes and maintains appropriate office supply stock levels for all Surgical Service Departments. * Maintains and updates active files for management. * Enforces vendor compliance with Reptrax. * Works with scheduling and Clinical Coordinator in assisting of operating room schedule including booking add on procedures, contacting vendors for equipment needs, etc. * Works with the Clinical Coordinator when coordinating scheduling concerns Qualifications Education: High School Degree Beth Israel Lahey Health Beverly MA
