Pharmacy Quality Assurance Manager - Cancer - 3 Month Contract (Band 8B)

Clarity is recruiting for a Pharmacy Quality Assurance Manager for an NHS contract in Derby

What you need to know:

This is a temporary contract starting ASAP until 30th June 2024. 9am - 5:30pm  Monday to Friday

• Develop and maintain a robust Quality Management System specifically tailored to the oncology pharmacy services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice standards.
• Establish quality objectives, performance indicators, and metrics to measure the effectiveness of pharmacy services and identify areas for improvement.
• Conduct regular audits, inspections, and assessments to evaluate compliance with internal policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and external regulations (e.g., MHRA guidelines).
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with oncology pharmacy operations, including medication errors, adverse drug reactions, and regulatory non-compliance.
• Implement risk management strategies and protocols to minimize the likelihood and impact of potential incidents or adverse events.
• Facilitate incident reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions are implemented as necessary.
• Oversee the development, review, and maintenance of documentation related to oncology pharmacy services, including SOPs, protocols, and quality records.
• Establish document control procedures to ensure the accuracy, accessibility, and integrity of critical documentation, including version control, archiving, and retention.

• Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Extensive experience in pharmacy practice, with a focus on oncology or cancer care.
• Proven experience in quality assurance, risk management, or regulatory compliance within a healthcare setting, preferably in oncology pharmacy.
• Strong understanding of relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines governing pharmacy practice, including GMP, GCP, and GCP.
