FTE: 1.0, Shift: Day , Schedule: 40 hours per week

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Purchasing Assistant is responsible for assisting the purchase of all pharmaceuticals for Good Samaritan Hospital departments, patient care units and clinics and for assuring a cost effective and reliable acquisition and inventory system for all drug products. This includes ordering and checking in of all medications and supplies in a timely manner.

This also includes monitoring drug product usage and predicting how much of each product the pharmacy needs to carry. Must be able to research and communicate drug shortage issues. Works with all pharmacy personnel to develop and monitor drug/supplies re-orders points.

Is responsible for working with the contracted drug wholesaler to monitor purchases/returns and proper invoicing/ pricing of products. Is responsible for the coordination of medication invoices getting to account payable in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required

  • Current Washington State Board of Pharmacy Technician Certification

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position.

The pay scale is $44,200.00 - $63,627.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
