Job Summary: The Pharmacy Purchaser/Buyer contributes to coordination of departmental purchasing in an optimal manner, including management of contract drug data base.

Ensures appropriate purchasing requisitions per hospital protocol are utilized in a timely manner. Transmits orders to wholesalers and other vendors accurately and double-checks all items prior to transmission. Ensures ability to resolve problems with vendors due to back orders, shortages, incorrect item etc.

Ensures accountability of items received and prompt processing of all invoices. Always contacts every possible alternate resource to obtain critical drugs in case of an item on back order or "temp short". Works with pharmacy management to notify to medical staff, nursing managers and pharmacy staff of drug shortage issues. Ensures all borrowing and loaning are handled appropriately in a timely fashion.

Takes physical inventories and uses purchasing trends to order pharmaceuticals from wholesalers. Closely monitors department "want book" to ensure that a reasonable inventory level is maintained at all times. Restocks inventory in all areas of pharmacy, as needed.

Maintains security of all stocks. Continuously evaluates individual and group purchasing contracts and ensures that the items are purchased on the best available price. Ensures that all expired drugs are promptly returned to pharmaceutical manufacturers for credit. Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree and two years of pharmacy experience (in a hospital and/or State setting preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Excellent written/oral communication, analytical and organizational skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Pharmacy purchasing experience, Pyxis inventory management, and knowledge of 340b drug discount program strongly preferred.

Work Days:

Days M-F rotating weekends and some holidays

Job Summary: Job Summary:The Buyer will perform daily procurement activity by processing requisitions and performing MRP analysis in order to meet desired cost and schedule requirements while maintaining proper inventory levels in support of the manufacturing operation. Responsibilities: * Procure Direct Material and Indirect Material/Services as required. * Procure capital equipment and Engineering samples to support NPI initiatives. * Understands andhas ability to clearly communicate design specifications and requirements to suppliers. * Must have extensive and proven experience sourcing custom mechanical and electronic components as well as MRO supplies. * Ability to implement corrective actions with suppliers to address quality concerns collaborating with the Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Engineering teams. * Serve as the primary contact with assigned suppliers and develop relationship with strategic suppliers from product qualification through mass production. * Identifies and implements cost productivity improvement projects. * Utilize Lean tools to drive continuous improvement, and provide realized cost savings by applying category management and strategic sourcing best practices. * Assist and monitor commodity strategy development process. * Identify and direct the qualification of new suppliers. * Ensure suppliers processes and capabilities are aligned with product performance, delivery, total cost and quality requirements. * Manage additional key projects as identified and assigned. Required Skills and Experience * Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or Engineering * Minimum three (3) years of relevantwork experience * Project management skills; ability to lead a project from concept to implementation. * Strong organizational, planning and analysis skills. * Business acumen; understanding of key Purchasing andEngineering business processes and interfaces. * PC skills, including fluency in word processing, spreadsheet, project management programs, and SAP ERP/MRP system. * Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. * Ability towork effectively in a fast paced, cross-functional environment. * Experience with MRP and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma. * Experience in procuring mechanical components and experience interacting with Contract Manufacturers required. * Excellent negotiation skills and ability to think strategically as well as tactically in a dynamic environment.
