This job works directly with patients to determine eligibility for medication financial assistance programs; coordinates with the referring physicians, nursing staff, care coordinators, and dispensing pharmacy to ensure medication related needs are met in an accurate and timely fashion; maintains documentation as required by law; and actively participates in special projects as needed.

Medication Therapy Management Certification (MTM) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
Good written and verbal skills.
Negotiation skills to assist the patient in navigation of the health care system.
Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
Job Duties
Determines patient financial assistance eligibility based on established criteria.
Maintains documentation as required by law.
Collaborates with clinical staff and dispensing pharmacy to coordinate patient medication receipt.
Performs other duties as needed.
