Alto Pharmacy is seeking a Specialty Patient Care Technician to be a key member of our Specialty Pharmacy Program. Technicians on the Specialty team are responsible for supporting pharmacists in executing on disease-specific patient management programs and collaborating with providers and patients to ensure prescribed therapies are delivered in a timely manner at an affordable price.

You will need to be able to adapt quickly and work well in a fast paced environment.

What you would do:

  • Work closely with members of the team to manage patient's medications and overall health, including but not limited to:

  • Onboarding patients and introducing them to our services

  • Performing benefit investigation/verification

  • Navigating insurance claims and assisting with prior authorization submission

  • Advocating for financial assistance, when necessary

  • Proactively reminding patients about upcoming refill due dates and coordinating deliveries with patients and/or their caregivers/providers

  • Managing prescription renewal requests

  • Work interactively with cross-functional teams to achieve company business and compliance goals/objectives.

  • Stay abreast of evolving regulatory and industry standards that are relevant, and ensure that appropriate action is initiated and communicate these trends to applicable personnel.


  • Currently licensed and in good standing by the California Board of Pharmacy

  • 2+ years of working experience in a specialty pharmacy setting

  • Strong positive attitude, good work ethic, and empathy for our patients

  • Extremely organized, analytical, adept at prioritizing, and detail oriented

  • Scrappiness and resourcefulness, and excited about working in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment

  • Enthusiastic about providing an outstanding patient experience, and excels at providing service to patients via phone, text, and email

  • Interested in diving into everything that makes a pharmacy tick, from inventory to patient education

  • Ability to build and scale efficient operations

  • Understands how software can be used to improve business processes

  • Positive and energetic, and uses opportunities to go above and beyond to wow patients.

  • Excellent computer organizational skills including experience with MAC OS applications, Google Apps, and database applications

  • Ability to act effectively as a member of a team to resolve problems.

  • Excellent oral and written skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

Our portfolio of PAH treatments covers the spectrum of disease, from WHO Functional Class (FC) II through to FC IV, with oral, inhaled and intravenous medications. The Manager, Specialty Pharmacy and HUB Analytics is responsible for SP and HUB related insights & metric tracking for all PAH products within the portfolio. S/he is responsible for generating, integrating and translating specialty pharmacy insights and analytics into growth opportunities and tactics that shape decisions and drive organizational actions for all PAH brands. This position will serve as an internal consultant to SCG Specialty Pharmacy Strategy, SCG Trade, SCG Patient Access Solutions, Commercial Insights & Strategy (CIS) and cross functional partners. This position plays a key role in advising and counseling business partners in the development and evaluation of new and existing business strategies and tactics and as a result, shares accountability for business results. This individual will be familiar with patient-level data and market dynamics pertaining to specialty pharmacies, HUB services, patient experience, and patient affordability. Key Responsibilities: HUB Analytics * Collaborate with CIS, Data Management Teams and Actelion HUB Managers to deliver improvements in HUB data quality and availability. * Liaise with other Market Access analytics functions to ensure availability of data driven insights into Market Access operations and Customer Experience Marketing strategic planning. * Recommend HUB KPIs and custom analytics to monitor the performance of Patient Access Solutions programs across all Actelion brands. * Develop and maintain performance dashboards for monitoring key aspects of HUB operations * Collaborate with HUB Managers to ensure Actelion strategic imperatives are aligned with HUB operational outcomes Specialty Pharmacy (SPP) Analytics * Lead efforts to improve SP data quality and availability across all pulmonary arterial hypertension brands in coordination the Data Strategy and Management team. * Collaborate with Actelion Specialty Pharmacy National Account Directors (NADs) and the Strategic Customer Group (SCG) Channel SP Strategy Team on data analysis and proactive communication of insights. * Develop & maintain SPP KPI scorecards and data quality metrics to be utilized for SPP facing business reviews. * Craft SPP internal dashboards to facilitate analysis by channel, account, and brand. * Ensure active collaboration and ongoing governance of responsibilities between CE teams supporting brand and SCG by actively contributing to CE "One Team" approach and providing governance and communication of CE responsibilities in support of specialty pharmacy analytics. * Partner with legal, HCC and the Patient Data Governance Council to ensure appropriate data governance and use.
