Manages and oversees clinical staff pharmacists, and technical staff. Oversees the medication use process assuring the safe preparation, dispensing, distribution, and security of medication.
Assures the safe, appropriate, and effective use of technology in pharmacy operations. Manages and maintains accountability for the operations of the pharmacy department. Oversees the pharmaceutical care and delivery of service provided, ensuring that they meet or exceed clinical quality and safety standards.
Provides authorization for supervision, orientation, performance evaluation, discipline, grievances and other personnel actions. Delegates authority as necessary, to clinical pharmacists in order for them to direct the work of the technical staff including the documentation of all environmental, operational, quality and process improvement data. Prepare staff work schedule to meet the requirements of daily operations.
Prepare upon request, reports and special studies that relate to pharmacy operations, quality and process improvement. Assist in preparation and management of the departments operational and personnel budgets. Seek compliance with regulatory agencies and assure that staff are compliant with all regulatory requirements. Participates in all quality and performance improvement.
Education
Bachelors Degree : Pharmacy (Required)
Masters Degree : MBA, MHA, MS (Hospital Pharmacy Administration) (Required)
Doctorate Degree : PharmD (Preferred)
Experience
1 Year experience as a Hospital Pharmacy Supervisor/Manager (Required)
3 Years experience as a Hospital Clinical Staff Pharmacist or Specialist (Required)
General Experience and understanding of process improvement techniques (Required)
General Experience in Hematology-Oncology pharmacy practice (Required)
General experience in an Academic Medical Center (Preferred)
License/Certifications
RPH-LIC - PA Pharmacist License (Required)
