Nemours is seeking a Pharmacy Manager, Supply Chain to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida.

Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children's Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 130-bed pediatric hospital also features the area's only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. Under the leadership of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Manager, Supply Chain is responsible for the coordination of all aspects relating to purchasing and inventory control, patient medication logistics and distribution, pharmacy automation/technology, and ensures compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements. This position will partner with Materials Management, Receiving, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable to ensure efficient and absolute financial accountability. Directs pharmaceutical procurement, warehousing, distribution, and financial forecasting activities to limit costs and improve accuracy, customer service, and safety. Coordinates the implementation and management of automation and technology that impacts the Department of Pharmacy Services and the medication use process.

  • Plans, organizes, and supervises activities in the Pharmacy according to hospital policies, standard of practices of the profession, and State and Federal Laws.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Pharmacy for identification of strategic opportunities for cost savings.

  • Initiates, develops, and carries out rules and regulations pertaining to administrative and professional policies of the department.

  • Works with the Pharmacy Business Manager to inform the departmental budget and is accountable for adhering to the financial management of these budgets.

  • Works with the Pharmacy Business Manager to optimize 340B split billing cost savings.

  • Responsible for compliance with The Joint Commission and other regulatory standards (ie DSCSA) as they apply to assigned duties and responsibilities. Maintains departmental reports and statistics, reviews department performance, effects change as needed to improve services provided and assures compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Develops standards of performance, monitors and supervises assigned staff such as certified pharmacy technicians. Evaluates performance and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions, such as merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary action.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by authorized personnel to provide departmental flexibility to patient care needs including those for emergency situations.

  • Plans and manages the development, implementation, and maintenance of Pharmacy Purchasing and Inventory Control Services.

  • Partner with hospitals in the area, drug representatives, and current business contacts

  • Coordinate the loan/borrow policy of the department, the return of outdated supplies and ensure an annual inventory is completed

  • Coordinate with all external practice sites in relation to pharmaceutical ordering, distribution, and inventory management

  • Manage and implement procedures to ensure the coordination of the purchasing, storage and inventory of medications and supplies

  • Supervise pharmaceutical procurement of all medications and supplies for the NCH, FL that fall under the responsibility of the hospital pharmacy.

  • Manages processes to ensure appropriate contract compliance and adequate inventories to support the patient care needs of the institution

  • Manages processes for appropriate handling of drug shortages and drug recalls and associated documentation

  • Designs or implements supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.

  • Supervise the finances of the department by properly managing the drug budget, ensuring that inter-departmental and pharmacy Epic billing and timely invoice payment is completed.

  • Coordinates the implementation, integration and maintenance of automation and technology to ensure appropriate inventory control.

Job Requirements

  • Master's Degree or higher in Pharmacy required.

  • 5 years experience in a hospital pharmacy or 5 years experience with a PharmD or Master's Degree required.

  • 1-2 years experience working across departments and with organizational leadership to achieve action oriented results preferred.

  • 2-3 years supervisory experience preferred.

  • Active Florida Pharmacist License - In Good Standing required.

  • Consultant Pharmacist license preferred.

  • Knowledge of drug storage, distribution, and automation technology systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify issues, define problems, facilitate teams and measure for success and sustainability.
