Job Description:

SCOPE: Responsible for providing leadership, development, and coordination of Mary Bird Perkins pharmacy services in the North Louisiana region. Operational & clinical oversight for treatment regimen review, drug utilization and preparation of chemotherapy/infusion medications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

o Graduate from an accredited Pharmacy program

o PharmD preferred

o Active Pharmacy license in the state of Louisiana or eligible for licensure in Louisiana

o BCOP Certification - Board Certified Oncology Pharmacy, preferred

o 4 - 5 years of experience as a pharmacist

o Oncology experience required

o Management experience preferred

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

o Disease states, therapeutic use of drugs, clinically significant drug interactions, and adverse drug reactions and their interrelatedness.

o Knowledge of drug names, strength, dosage forms, generic equivalent, and storage requirements.

o Basic pharmacy compounding and dispensing

o Inventory control procedures and practices

o State laws and regulations regarding practice of pharmacy

o Knowledge of regulatory requirement related to dispensary and infusion area

o Knowledge of USP 797/800 clean room standards

o Thorough knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA and other regulatory policies and requirements
