As a Pharmacy Manager, MDL you will function as a field-based member of the Medical Affairs group in Medical Products and Therapies, Baxter Healthcare Corporation. You will be responsible for providing Pharmacy expertise as it relates to the development and maintenance of the Master Drug Library (MDL) for Baxter Infusion Pumps.

What you'll be doing:

Supports successful pump implementations and integration projects by:

  • Providing remote or live MDL software training on the creation and maintenance of the Master Drug Library for all new MDL administrators

  • Reviewing MDLs created by the newly-trained administrators and outlining opportunities for improvement as necessary to help ensure that all drug entries are clinically appropriate and that the overall design of the MDL reflects the current practices at the facility

  • Participating in on-site MDL vetting and testing sessions with key contacts at the facilities

  • Providing remote or live training on CQI reports for all new MDL administrators

  • Providing guidance and support for customers as they create their MDLs for Large Volume and Syringe Pump for use with EMR Integration.

  • Provide retraining for customers using Baxter's Spectrum Large Volume Pump.

  • Identifying resource requirements and scheduling those resources as required to help ensure safe and efficient implementations and successful evaluations.

  • Collaborates with the Infusion Systems field sales team on demonstrations and evaluations of the Novum Infusion Pump Platform for customers

  • Works in conjunction with the Infusion System Sales and Implementation Teams following Baxter Universal Implementation Plan (UIP).

Provides post-implementation support by:

  • Providing remote or live ongoing clinical support and/or supplemental training for MDL administrators or other account representatives requesting assistance with drug library needs or issues

  • Performing consulting programs (as purchased by customers) that include: Analytics Performance Review as part of Partner Advantage Program and Annual Clinical Day Program

  • Customer training and support for the use of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) reporting tool

Clinical support:

  • Working closely with the Infusion Systems Team to engage in peer-to-peer discussions to highlight clinical benefits of the MDL software and CQI reporting system during presentations and clinical evaluations

  • Providing timely and accurate clinical information about Baxter products.

  • Providing exemplary customer service and responsiveness during implementation and post-implementation engagements

  • Develops collaborative, professional relationships with Pharmacy customers, including staff and management levels

  • Serves as the SME on the MDL software and CQI reports and provides professional Pharmacy support for internal product development/improvement teams

  • Actively participates in product training initiatives as needed

  • Maintains knowledge of Pharmacy practices and trends with a concentration on infusion pump usage

What you'll bring

  • Registered Pharmacist (B.S. or Pharm.D.) with a 5 plus years of clinical and operational experience in an acute care Pharmacy

  • Prior hospital Pharmacy management and/or Pharmacy operations consulting experience preferred

  • A demonstrated understanding of IV drug dosing and administration

  • Knowledge of the Baxter Infusion Pumps and/or competitive products, and their appropriate use preferred

  • Articulate and comfortable with public speaking and teaching others

  • Strong written communication skills and interpersonal skills.

  • Self-starting, independent worker

  • High energy with innovative approach

  • Work independently and within groups in a collegial manner

  • Professional presence and rapport with customers, and all business unit personnel within Baxter

  • Strong process orientation

  • Prior industry experience preferred

  • Must be willing to travel up to 70%

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $80,000 to $180,000 plus an annual incentive bonus, commission target, and equity target (strike any, if not applicable). The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
