JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

HOURS: Monday through Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the daily management of the Employee Pharmacy and Specialty Pharmacy program in conformance with all statutes and regulations pertinent to the practice of pharmacy including but not limited to federal and state laws concerning the dispensing of medications. Accountable for staff, services provided and level of performance within assigned areas.

Responsible for the supervision and hiring of personnel. Assists the Director of Outpatient Pharmacy with specific projects including implementing, reviewing, and revising processes, policies, and procedures. Coordinates with other departments related to growth initiatives or other projects.

The manager will participate in direct patient care as needed. Responsible for being a proponent of the mission and vision of St. Tammany Health System.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor of Science or Doctorate (PharmD) required. Minimum of 5 years of experience as an outpatient pharmacist.

Must maintain a current Pharmacist License issued by the Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy. Obtain at least 15 ACPE approved education hours per year.

Preferred Qualifications: At least 3 years of experience in an outpatient pharmacy managerial position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.

Lifting at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Physical Effort required:

Constant (67%-100%) - talking, hearing, seeing

Frequently (34%-66%) - none

Occasionally (1%-33%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, stooping, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc), balancing, crouching, reaching, handling/feeling
