Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy IV Technician for Sentara Princess Anne in Virginia Beach, Virginia!
Sign-On Bonus up to $5,000 offered to qualified candidates!
Status: Full Time, 36-hours
Shift: 4 to 5 rotating shifts per week including every other weekend:
0600-1430
0630-1500
0700-1530
1030-1900
1230-2100
1430-2300
Need to coverage for night shift when needed including weekends (1900-0700).
Job responsibilities:
Prepare sterile and non-sterile medications under the direction of a pharmacist. Responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient focused and cost efficient drug therapy. Performs all functions of Pharmacy Technician I & II positions.
Required qualifications:
Virginia Pharmacy Technician license REQUIRED
1 year Pharmacy Technician experience REQUIRED
Pharmacy Technician Registration Number and Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) REQUIRED
3-months IV Room experience REQUIRED

Job Summary
Prepare sterile and non-sterile medications under the direction of a pharmacist. Responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient-focused, and cost-efficient drug therapy. Performs tasks that require higher levels of competency and spends greater than 80% of their time compounding sterile and non-sterile medications including hazardous medications. Serves as trainer and mentor for the Pharmacy IV Technicians. Assists in the assurance of compliance with IV Room-related Safety and Quality program.
One (1) year of experience working in IV room is required.
VA OR NC Pharmacy Technician Registration Number
PTCB or NHA CPhT is required upon entry.
CSPT preferred.
