Oviedo Medical Center is located at the intersection of Red BugLake Road and State Road 426, adjacent to State Road 417 (Central FloridaGreeneWay).
Maintains effective inventory control processes for thepharmacy. Serves as a resource relatedto product procurement, ordering and inventory levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (included, but notlimited to):
Providesoversight of pharmacy distribution activities including order receipt, productstorage, controlled substance process, dispensing and other distributionalfunctions.
Underthe supervision and direction of the clinical Pharmacist, prepares and dispensesprescribed medications, drugs and other pharmaceuticals in an accurate andtimely manner.
Evaluatesand maintains inventory levels, making adjustments to ensure sufficient supplymeets customers needs while maintaining targeted inventory turns. Utilizes system reports and knowledge ofdepartment activities to maintain accurate inventory levels. Facilitates excess inventory reduction byreturning excess products to vendors.
Ensuresstaff is promptly informed of new products and products shortages/recalls.Ensures that recalled/withdrawn products are promptly removed from circulationin the facility and handled as recommended by Manufacturer/FDA.
Collaborateswith Supply Chain on new commodity and product lines and works with vendors tomaintain constructive and appropriate relationships.
High SchoolDiploma or equivalent required
Completionof a Pharmacy Technician programrequired
National Certification (CPhT) required.
Active Registered pharmacy technician, as per State requirements, in good standingwith the appropriate State Board of Pharmacyrequired
Minimumone (1) year of experience as a Pharmacy Tech required.
Previous leadership andhospital procurement strongly preferred
Ability to review medicaltranscription orders, knowledge of medication names and medical terminology.Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communicationskills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to followverbal instructions, PC skills/Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word,etc.
