Pharmacy Intern

JOB SUMMARY Perform a multitude of pharmacy tasks and also special projects to benefit the medical center and further their understanding of pharmacy.# Tasks will vary and may include but are not limited to the following duties. DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS# Answers the phone and assists customers Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:

Responsible for pulling and delivering medications and supplies to appropriate area. Assists in medication#reconciliation Assists in discharge counseling Assists the retail pharmacy Performs compounding non-sterile products Performs admixing sterile products including chemotherapy EDUCATION/LICENSE/#CERTIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS Minimum requirement: Enrolled in an ACPR accredited School of Pharmacy Pharmacy Intern license in the state of KY Preferred qualifications:

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certifications in immunizations, diabetes and MTM WORKING ENVIRONMENT Constantly works near moving mechanical parts Occasionally exposed to blood and/or body fluids and infection.# Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals Occasionally exposed to risk of radiation The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Occasionally required to maintain in a stationary position (standing or sitting). Frequently required to walk and move about. Frequently required to operate a computer and other equipment.

Frequently required to use fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments/devices. Constantly required to lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds. Frequently required to lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds.

Occasionally required to lift and/or move items up to 100 pounds. Constantly required to communicate with patients and other care team requiring talking and hearing.# Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
