Must have Intern/Extern license from the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy that is active and in good standing with the Board.

Pharmacy Interns will be expected to work one evening each week with hours of 4pm to 10pm and work one weekend a month working Saturday 1:30pm to 10pm and Sunday 1:30pm to 10pm.

Responsibilities

Perform the duties of a staff pharmacist under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

• Under direct supervision, maintain proper narcotic documentation and ensure proper distribution of narcotic medications.

• Under direct supervision, ensure appropriate selection of dosing, administering and monitoring of medication.

• Dispense medications accurately for delivery to patient care areas. May compound medications.

• Assist pharmacists with maintaining and monitoring patient profiles. Provide medication information and education to medical staff and patients.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Pharmacy Intern preferred.

Education:

• High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline.
