Since then, the agency has expanded to 17+ clinics in Houston, one in Baytown, two in Beaumont, and one in Deer Park with extensive services that include: Adult primary care, HIV/AIDS care, pediatrics, OB/GYN and maternity, dental, vision and behavioral health. Job Description

The Pharmacy Financial Analyst II is responsible for analyzing financial data related to pharmacy operations and making strategic recommendations to improve financial performance. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop financial models, conduct variance analysis, and assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.

Essential Duties and Functions

  • Upload data in financial reporting system per established timeline, including comparison to general ledger system.

  • Analyze financial data related to pharmacy operations, including revenue, costs and expenses.

  • Identify potential cost saving opportunities.

  • Assist with monthly budget to actual variance alerts process through financial reporting system.

  • Assist with preparation of governmental, private foundation, and general operating budgets.

  • Assist with preparation of financial models for forecasting and analysis.

  • Serve as liaison for questions or information requests, variance alerts between Pharmacy leadership and financial department.

  • Assist with preparation for annual financial audit and other financial reviews, including those by funders.

  • Participate in various cross-training initiatives within department, functions including but not limited to general ledger, daily receipts, Balance Sheet reconciliations (including bank reconciliations), fixed assets, etc.

  • Keep abreast of changing state and federal laws, procedures and accounting practices, and makes recommendations for or implements changes in accordance with organizational policy.

  • Prepare end of month file maintenance, pharmacy product description file maintenance on the following procedures: drug utilization file maintenance, ongoing development and maintenance of business intelligence reports and files; 340B data audit and report preparations.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of financial analysis activities.

  • Identify market and environmental trends related to area of responsibility.

  • Generate report financial templates and other deliverables as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Certifications, Licenses & Training (minimum requirements)

  • Bachelors degree Business/Accounting or related field is required.

  • Ability to meet Legacy Community Health's EPIC proficiency requirements.

Required Years of Experience (minimum requirements)

  • Three (3) years of experience in financial analysis and reporting is required.

Desirable Education and/or Experience

  • Masters degree preferred.

  • Previous financial analysis/reporting experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is preferred.

  • Five (5) years of experience in financial analysis and reporting is preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities (minimum requirements)

  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts, analysis techniques, and forecasting methods

  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations and Legacy financial policies and procedures.

  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, SQL)

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.

  • Ability to develop, plan and implement short- and long-range goals.

  • Knowledge of business practices and procedures.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working with large datasets.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of computerized information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications.

  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control procedures.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations and healthcare industry

Work Environment

  • May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including viruses.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

  • May work in open area at times and be exposed to various distractions.
